AAUA Management implores students to adhere to resumption date

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Professor Francis Gbore has asked students of the University to adhere to the resumption date approved by the management of the University.

Professor Gbore noted that the calendar was proposed to the Senate of the university and was assented afterwards.

“The academic calendar sent to the university community has been approved by the senate of the University and the entire student populace [is] hereby urged to [conform] to it,” he said.

The students, however, spoke against the November 24th resumption date for 2019/2020 academic session, noting that the current session ends on the 10th of November.

Amongst those against the new resumption date are students of the Faculty of Education who will be going for teaching practice in the next session. They highlighted that the two-week break is not enough time to prepare for the teaching practice, adequately.

However, Professor Gbore has made it clear that the resumption date will not be changed, stating that students who do not adhere to it do so at their own personal risk.
