The management of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), has announced the Students’ Union Government election date for the 2021/2022 academic session.
The management made this known in a statement signed by the Students’ Union Electoral Committee (SUEC) Chairman, Professor Olukayode Afolabi.
According to the statement, the election will hold on Thursday, 4 May 2023, from 9 am to 3 pm at the Heritage Building.

“Collection of forms and registration of voters will start on Wednesday 19th to Friday 21 April at the Dean of Students Affairs (DSA) office,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, the submission of nomination forms will be held on Tuesday, 25 April, from 8 am to 2 pm at the Students’ Affairs Office, while screening of aspirants will kick-off from Wednesday, 26 to Thursday, 27 April, at the same venue.
Furthermore, other activities, like announcing the names of qualified candidates and the accreditation of agents, will happen on Friday, 28 April.
Also, the election debate, which will be conducted by the institution’s Nigeria Union of Campus Journalists (NUCJ), will hold on Tuesday, 2 May, at Old Relaxation Centre, while the manifesto presentation is slated for Wednesday, 3 May, at the Matriculation Ground.
Similarly, filing and hearing of Electoral Petitions will be held on Tuesday, 9 May, at the Moot Court.
The swearing-in and handing-over ceremony for the newly elected Student Executives Council (SEC) and the Student Representative Council (SRC) will hold on or before Tuesday, 23 May, at the Obasanjo Multipurpose Hall (OBJ).
As of press time, campaigns have commenced within and outside the campus.
