Super Eagles and Enyimba goalkeeper, Ilechukwu Ezenwa, has expressed optimism that Nigeria will qualify for the African Cup of nations in Cameroon next year.
He assured Nigerians while speaking on a program on Brila FM 88.9 on Friday afternoon.
He said the Super Eagles’ match against Seychelles on September 8 is a must-win.
“Its compulsory for Super Eagles to win that game because anything short of a win will be a big problem to the team,” he said. “I believe that no man can stop God for what he has for the team”.
“I believe with faith that we are going to qualify for the nations cup, it will be like a surprise to the whole world if we qualify,” he added.
Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2015 and 2017 editions of the tournament.
Also, Mr Ezenwa spoke on the qualification of Enyimba from the group stage in the CAF Confederations Cup.
He said: “I was praying seriously before the goal came in because we couldn’t crash out at this point in time because we’ve worked hard in Mali to get a win. Now in front of our home fans, it would be bad news for the whole of Aba because that’s the first time we are playing on the tour”.
