The Deputy Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Kwara State Technical Committee on COVID-19, Mr Kayode Alabi, and his wife, Mrs Abieyuwa Alabi, have been reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus.
The duo tested positive yesterday, August 4 after they underwent the COVID-19 test and showed slight symptoms of the virus.
The information was contained in a statement posted on the verified Facebook page of Kwara State Government and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara State Governor and the spokesman of the Kwara State Technical Committee on COVID-19, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye.
The statement clarified that “The couple are very stable and in high spirit, and are now undergoing standard management protocols supervised by the government’s medical team.”
It explained that the tracing of contacts and other safety protocols will be observed by the government in order to contain the spread of the virus.
“Immediate contact tracing and tests, among other safety protocols, are being done for persons who have met with the couple in the past few days,” the statement reads.
