The Police in Rivers State has launched a manhunt for a suspected killer after a middle-aged woman was found dead in a Port Harcourt guest house.
Confirming the incident on Friday, Police Spokesperson in the state, DSP Nnamdi Omoni said the lifeless body of the woman was found on Thursday evening, at “Flower Guest House” in Mile 3, Diobu.
Omoni, who said the remains of the woman had been deposited at the mortuary, added that investigations to unravel the cause of her death are ongoing.
He revealed that the deceased had checked into the hotel with a man, who is now at large. He noted that the police has started a manhunt to track and arrest the culprit.
The police spokesperson also noted that the owner of the guest house was already in police custody and is currently assisting with investigations.
About nine women were killed in seven hotels across Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital in 2019.
Suspected serial-killer, Gracious David-West was arrested and is currently standing trial before Justice Adolphus Enebeli of the Rivers State High Court, in connection with the killings.
