The Management of the Ondo-State-owned, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo has announced the postponement of its resumption date from Sunday the 24th of April to the 8th of May, 2022 as a result of the ongoing celebrations of Easter and the upcoming Eid el-Fitri celebration.
This was announced in the circular with the Ref Number RUGIPO/DAA/SCL/2022/04/02, dated 23rd April 2022 which was signed by the Director of Students Affairs, Gbenga Ademiluyi.
The circular read in part: “This is to inform all Students of Rufus Giwa polytechnic, Owo, that the resumption date from the current easter break has been shifted from Sunday 24th April 2022 to Sunday 8th May 2022.”
The circular added that the management took into serious consideration the need to avert a situation in which students will have to start travelling back home again for the Eid-el-Fitri celebration which marks the end of the first Ramadan fast this year and the Worker’s Day celebration which both come up in the first week of May 2022.
The circular further stated that all categories of students are therefore directed to resume on Sunday the 8th of May in readiness for academic activities to begin on Monday the 9th of May 2022.
According to the circular, the management wishes all the Muslim faithfuls a pleasant Eid-el-Fitri celebration and all students a safe return to the institution.
