The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Wednesday, announced the arrest of two brothers, and three others for suspected internet fraud.
A statement issued by the Commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Mr Dele Oyewale, revealed that the seven suspects were arrested at their hideout on Wednesday at Alaka, Elebu area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Living with opulence without means of livelihood
According to the statement issued by the commission, “the suspects were arrested based on intelligence linking them with opulence without any identifiable means of livelihood.”
The pair of brothers arrested are Ayoola Timilehin, Olusola Timilehin, and Oladayo Fayemi, Tolulope Fayemi.
The other three suspects are: Temitope Kumuyi, Babatunde Oyelakin and Olanrewaju Ibrahim.
Mr Oyewale further revealed that Items recovered from the suspects include: four cars, laptops, exotic phones and a stamp bearing the identity of the bursary section of Queensland University’s School of Medicine, Australia.
“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” he added.
