Fayemi Flags Off Water Pipeline Extension And Distribution Network in Ado Ekiti

The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr John Kayode Fayemi, flagged off the construction of 251 Water Pipeline Extension and Distribution Network in Ado Ekiti on the 5th of July, 2019.

The project is jointly financed by the Ekiti State Government and the World Bank under the 3rd National Urban Water Project.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Fayemi noted that the project was initiated during his first tenure as the governor of the State. He said his administration is making concerted efforts to ensure that people can access potable water in the State and the project will contribute to the industrial revolution his administration is aiming to kickstart.

“For the purpose of transparency, it is going to cost 3 billion, 354 million, 616 thousand, 553 Naira and 60 Kobo,” the governor noted.

“The immediate beneficiaries of this project are the communities of Olunrunda, Surulere, Balemo, Olorunsogo, Oke-Ila, State and Federal Housing Estates in Ado Ekiti.

“This project is to increase tremendously the number of people getting access to good, hygienic and clean potable water irrespective of their status, class, age and location in the State.”

While congratulating the immediate beneficiary communities of the project, Fayemi said his administration is focused on making life comfortable for the people of Ekiti State.
