The Ekiti State Governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi, has warned any act of misappropriation of public funds by the officials under outgoing Ayo Fayose administration.
Speaking through a press release issued by his campaign media director, Wole Olujujobi, on Wednesday, he said the consequences of illegal appropriation of public funds would be very grave for individuals who participated in it
The Isan-Ekiti governor elect warned the Mr Fayose to desist from the act capable of dragging the state into any financial crossroads through illegal means.
Mr Fayemi, through the release, advised all public servants and assembly members, not to be used as a tool of syphoning public fund in Ekiti state. He declared that such actors will be brought to book, when his administration takes effect on October 16th 2018.
He rebuked the brains behind the 10 billion supplementary budget just a month of handing over power date
“There is a media report alleging that Fayose coerced the Ministry of Budget officials to make a demand backdated to August 23, 2018, for a supplementary budget of N10 billion a few days to the end of his administration, (that) is fraudulent and not in the interest of the state,” he said
