A building situated in the south campus of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, was razed by fire in the late hours of Wednesday 29 January 2020.
The upper floor of storey building which is still under construction was completely damaged by the inferno.
In an interview with the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Sola Lawal, he noted that the affected building is in the female hostel and though no lives were lost, properties were destroyed.
He commended the men of the Osun State Fire Station as well as their Federal counterpart for responding quickly to the incident, ultimately preventing further damage.
In a chat with the team of the Osun State Fire Service, the Administrative of the service, Mr Fatai Aremu said the fire was caused by the bush burning in Jere Area of the state where the school is located. The raging fire from the bush burning spread to the premises of the campus late Wednesday and razed part of the storey building still under construction.
Although no life was lost, the service estimated the worth of properties lost in the incident at over N10 Million.
