Over 430 students have been admitted into virtually all the departments in the four faculties running the programme.

The four faculties include Engineering, Agriculture, Science and Social Sciences.

The Top Up and Conversion programme is a two-in-one programme that runs three semesters within a year.

The programme is affiliated with Federal University Oye-Ekiti and has its base at the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti.

Also, the admitted students are to receive lectures at their lecture centre in the Federal  Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, where other activities under the programme also take place.

The ‘Top Up’ programme allows students who are initial graduates with OND, HND, BSC degrees, especially those with a ‘pass’ grade, to proceed in their education progression in the same field they bagged their first certificate and it will last for a period of two years.

The ‘Conversion’ programme gives room for those who wish to deviate from their first course of study to another field. This runs for two and a half years with a period of eight semesters.

While addressing the students after they took the matriculation oath, the Dean of Student Affairs, FUOYE, Dr Dosu Malomi, enjoined the students to focus on why they are here and what they are here to do.

“Let me remind you that the programme is strictly academics, no social activities involved,” he added.

Speaking to UCJ FUOYE, one of the students, Mr Johnson Olatunde expressed his gratitude to God Almighty for a day like this.

“I thank God for another opportunity,” he said.
