The Lagos State Governor, Babajide has announced that 11 more patients have been released from the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), Yaba after testing negative for Coronavirus.
With this new development, Lagos State now has 18 recovered cases of COVID-19.
This was discussed in a statement made available on the Governor’s official Twitter page on Thursday.
According to the statement, he disclosed that they have been released today to return home after testing negative twice for Coronavirus.
“I am happy to break to you, my good people of Lagos, the news of the release today of 11 more patients from our facility in Yaba”
“They have fully recovered and have tested negative to #COVID19 and have been allowed to return home to their families,” he added.
Mr Sanwo-Olu said: “The patients include two females and nine males. Their results came out negative in two rounds of tests”
“I want to use this opportunity to, once again, thank our frontline health workers and other professionals for their service.
“Let me reiterate that this is not the time to relax, but to maintain our vigilance because of the community infection that we are beginning to see.
“I assure you that at the end, we will hoist a flag of victory – with your cooperation and by the grace of the Almighty,” he ended.
Details So Far
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Nigeria currently has 184 confirmed cases, 20 discharged cases and two deaths from COVID-19.
A breakdown of states where cases have been confirmed indicates that Lagos has 98 cases, followed by FCT – 38, Osun -14, Oyo – 8, Akwa Ibom – 5, Ogun – 4, Edo- 4, Kaduna – 4, Bauchi – 3, Enugu – 2, and Ekiti – 2. Rivers and Benue have one case each.
With the release of 11 more patients yesterday, the country now has 20 discharged cases.
