The Lagos State University Students’ Union hosted the annual cultural festival and carnival which featured several cultural activities on Wednesday at the school’s Sports Centre.
The carnival had in attendance a huge number of students who added life and colours to the event despite the ongoing strike which made the Students’ Union President, popularly known as Samgrin boast of how efficient his administration is.
The cultural festival also received the Aare Ona Kankanfo of Yoruba Land, Gani Adams who was represented by Baba Yinka Ogunyimehin.
Mr Ogunyimehin when called on to address the students, captivated the students by praying in the three prominent religions ways. He commended the union for setting up the platform that promotes the various cultures of the country and advised them to keep it up and make the celebration bigger and better next year.
The cultural festival featured, Chants, Masquerades’ Performances, a live band performance by the school’s popular Fuji Band, Jega Band as well as the inter-faculty dance competition which was won by the Faculty of Law with their Benin Dance.
