Max FM loses Popular OAP IyaJogbo

Popular Max FM radio presenter, Emmanuella Adepoju, Iya Jogbo is dead.

The Management of TVC Communication owners of TVC, TVC News and Max FM news in Lagos and Abuja made the announcement in a statement via its official Twitter account on Friday.

Iya Jogbo, who is popular on the Max FM Wetin Dey radio show, died after a brief illness from bronchitis and an enlarged heart.

“The management of TVC Communications, owners of TVC, TVC News and Max FM Lagos and Abuja today announce the passing on of Emmanuella Pobeni Adepoju (popularly known as Iya Jogbo. “

Speaking on behalf of the staff and management of TVC Communications and Max FM, Andrew Hanlon, CEO of TVC Community said that the terribly sad news of Emmanuella’s passing has sent a wave of grief and sorrow throughout the TVC Communications and MAX FM family.

In his words: “Whilst we struggle to come to terms with her untimely passing, our hearts and minds are focussed solely on her beloved children and her immediate and extended family and friends.

“Emmanuella’s presence will be with us forever as she leaves a legacy of enormous talent and spirit from the almost 10 years she spent with the company as a key member of the much loved Wetin Dey radio show on Max FM.

“She will be deeply missed by us all and by her many thousands of fans who tuned in to hear her unique broadcasts every day. May she Rest In Peace.

Tributes have since poured in for the late OAP from her fans and well wishes on Twitter who described her death as a great loss.

@Olaoluw3901727 says: “This one hit my enter bone….Just so sad…Wonderful and loving woman with a kind heart…She is always ready to help people in any way she can…You will be miss[ed] greatly…May God console the family, colleagues, friends and fans…Sad.”

@Ade_ar05: “Iya Jogbo that always gives insight on topics society shies away from, area police segment is my favourite because of her. I will really miss your voice on in peace ??”.

@xena_sage: “@Max1023FM Lord Jesus !!! She was one of those who trained me and other young interns at Max FM a few years ago. You will be remembered for your amazing sense of humour, beautiful smile and equally wonderful heart. ? ?I simply can’t right now. It is well.”
