The leadership of National Association of Kwara State Law Students (NAKLAS, National headquarters) has, on Saturday 19th July 2020, appointed the youngest SAN in Nigeria and the managing partner of Omaplex Law Firm, O.M Atoyebi (SAN) as the new legal adviser of the union.
The meeting, which was held via Zoom according to the Union was held in a bid to recognise the efforts and giant strides of the learned silk both in the legal profession and mentorship of many Kwara law students.
While speaking with the CAMPUS REPORTER, Muyiwa Atoyebi SAN appreciated the leadership of the organisation and promised to continue to offer mentorship to young minds from Kwara state and Nigeria at large.
“Omaplex Law Firm has plans for law students who are seeking for mentorship, and this is the reason why we introduce recently our virtual law internship. Also, any student from Kwara state who graduated with upper class both in university and the Nigerian Law School should feel free to approach our office, they will be offered what will seem like automatic employment,” he said
Reacting to the kind gesture from the learned silk, the CTC Chairman of the Association, Comrade Moshood Ibrahim, appreciated him for the unprecedented and philanthropic gesture and urged other well-to-do Lawyers in the country to emulate the behaviour. According to him, it would go along way in not only dwindling the unemployment level of new wigs in particular and in our society, generally.
“The good gesture of our new legal adviser truly shows that indeed, he is a good mentor and the association appreciates him for that. We are now using this medium to call upon all well to do lawyers both in Kwara state and Nigeria at large to emulate this kind of gesture because it goes a long way to reduce unemployment level of new wigs,” he told Campus Reporter.
Oyetola Muyiwa Atoyebi SAN is the youngest in the history of Nigeria to be elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria. At age 34, he was conferred with the prestigious rank in September 2019.
