No Plan To Extend Deadline For 2018 UTME Registration – JAMB

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said that there are no  plans of extending the deadline for registration of candidates for the 2018 United Tertiary Matriculations Examination (UTME).

JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede said this while inspecting some designated Computer Based Test (CBT) centres in Kano on Tuesday.

Mr. Oloyede also decried the low turn out of candidates for the registration exercise as he expressed worries that candidates were not coming out for registration despite the fact that unlike for the 2017 registration when the board was accused of giving only one month for registration, it had given two months for 2018 edition.

“I want to state categorically that the board will not give any extension after the expiration of February 6, 2018 dateline,” said Mr. Oloyede.

“So, I am calling on all JAMB candidates, Direct Entry (DE), United Tertiary Matriculations Examination (UTME) and foreign students to come forward and register for the exam. We have started registration on December 6, 2017 and we are closing on February 6, 2018.”

The Registrar, however, expressed satisfaction with level of compliance by owners of CBT centers, saying “I am happy that CBT centers in Kano are duly following our registration guidelines and processes.”

He urged owners of CBT centers in the state to maintain the tempo of adherence to JAMB rules and regulation, saying the board would not tolerate any unethical conduct on the part of the centers.
