Ondo Varsity: OAUSTECH ASUU Joins Warning Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) whose 1-month warning strike began on the 15th of February has come as a big blow to the university at large. Students and staff are hopeful that the strike will be resolved in less than a month as the government resumes talks with ASUU.

The management of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, Ondo State joined the 1-month warning strike issued by the ASUU on Tuesday the 15th of February 2022.

In a circular released by the university management on Thursday the 17th of February, which was received by Campus Reporter, the management noted that in the view of the national warning strike action embarked upon the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the university, on behalf of the Senate of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH) Okitipupa, have directed that all academic activities within the university community be placed on hold.

Additionally, the management advised the students of the university to vacate the university campus until further notice. They also encouraged students to update their data on the university’s portal.

Finally, the management of the institution (under the leadership of Professor Igbasan) has directed all students to adhere strictly to the instructions above.
