The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth And Sports, Asiwaju Seun Fakorede has advised that millennials take advantage of relationships and build larger networks to fast track success.
He said this while speaking at the maiden edition of the Home Advantage Africa (HAA) African Writers Fest, which was held in the conference hall of the Ibadan Business School on Saturday, February 22, 2020.
“I met Engineer Seyi Makinde on LinkedIn far back in 2018. We used to chat. He would send me birthday wishes. Sometimes I asked about his campaign. Relationships are pivotal to one’s success in life. Excuses are good reasons for bad results. History never celebrates weaklings,” he told participants of the fest.
Home Advantage Africa (HAA) is a non-profit devoted to promoting local dominance and global stardom in Africa through digital storytelling, which came to existence in 2015.
The founder and convener of the HAA African Writers Fest, Asiwaju Seun Fakorede, emphasized the importance of content creation, creative thinking, finding inspiration, seeking help and building networks.
Peace Itimi, Digital Creator and 2019 Nominee for the Future Awards Africa (Media Category) graced the fest as she was among the panellists who lectured on the vitality of creativity in the world, especially in this new decade.
Another popular artist is Damilare Osundare popularly known as Asiri Comedy was at the event. He spoke about the Nigerian entertainment industry to attentive participants alongside Dr Fola David, a Medical doctor and Visual Artist, Dapo King, an acclaimed Filmmaker and Shola Animashaun (CEO, SA Photo Academy).
In his closing remarks, the founder, Asiwaju Seun Fakorede declared there will be editions in Kigali, Port Harcourt, Nairobi, Lagos and also, HAA 100 which will be for awarding exceptional youths.
