The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has commissioned the newly completed Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko Business School located in Akure, the state capital.
In a statement released by the Chief Press to the Governor, Richard Olatunde said the governor illustrated that building a business school of a compelling status is highly important to his administration, adding that his government is committed to innovation and entrepreneurial growth through the provision of functional education.
Akeredolu described the business school as another lofty signpost of his administration to the development of education in the state aimed to drive economic growth, self-reliance among the people and all-around development in the state.
However, he said he is aware that business schools will offer specialization and professional courses for entrepreneurship, oriented graduates, career persons and corporate organisations through its internal resources and meaningful collaboration with world-class business institutions around the globe.
More so, he affirmed that apart from architectural features of the Adekunle Ajasin University Business School, the State can also boast of owning the 2nd strategically positioned Business School in the whole of Southwest, Nigeria.
While noting that the government also cannot fine education for very obvious reasons, Akeredolu called on philanthropists, relevant stakeholders, corporate organisations and well-to-do citizens to join him in expanding the frontiers of infrastructural development of institutions across the state.
Akeredolu said: “More importantly, at this time, we seek support from corporate individuals and organisations towards ensuring that the Adekunle Ajasin University Business School, Akure, is well-positioned to deliver on its mandate.”
The Governor further noted that there is more need to bring up other utility buildings, lodging and Relaxation centres with the premises to complement the university’s excellent service.
