The management of Osun State University has shut down activities at the Ifetedo Campus of the University due to a protest. The was contained in a memo signed by the Registrar of the University, Gafar Shittu. The memo directed all students to vacate the University facilities at the College of Law in Ifetedo by 4 pm on Saturday, 20th February 2021.
The protest was a result of new policies implemented by the University which the students find uncomfortable. The university increased the accommodation fee from ₦60,000 to ₦80,000, while the number of occupants in each room was also increased from four to six. The university also banned cooking by students in the hostel.

It continued: “Hinged on the above, the Vice-Chancellor has directed that the Campus be closed down indefinitely. All students in Ifetedo Campus of the University should leave the campus with immediate effect.
