A human resource career development website, Stutern, has released a list of Nigerian universities according to the employability of their graduates.
This is contained in the outfit’s Nigerian Graduates Report released this week. The followed a study the outfit said it conducted.
The report revealed that graduates from Covenant University, Ota, are the most employable in the country, followed by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the University of Ibadan. However, the University of Ilorin, Ilorin ranked first in terms of return on investment based on salary earned and tuition paid.
The study posed questions to samples formed of graduates. They were also asked, “Which employer offers the best opportunities for graduates in Nigeria?” KPMG, however, ranked first among the top 20 graduates employers in the country followed by Andela, Shell, and PWC.
Covenant University retained its first position in the graduate employability rating. The institution had 83.70% employability rate according to the Stutern report. In 2017, Covenant University topped the list with 90% employability rate. This is coming few days after the University was ranked the best institution in Nigeria and fifth in Africa.
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka is 2nd on the list according to the report with a percentage of 68.18%. Similarly, the University of Ibadan is 3rd on the list with 61.76%. However, UI is currently the second best University in Nigeria, sixth in Africa and 677th in the world.
Other universities on the list were Federal University of Technology, Minna (60.61%), University of Ilorin (60.22%), Bowen University (60.00%), Obafemi Awolowo University (59.30%), University of Benin (58.51%), Lagos State University (58.49%), and University of Lagos (58.13%).
