The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto has ordered a part of its admitted candidates to defer their admission until the next academic session. The affected students are the candidates admitted during the 2019/2020 academic session through inter-Faculty transfer but were unable to proceed for the collection of a letter of confirmation due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
This development was contained in a memo tagged: ‘General Notice’ released by the Office of the Registrar- Admission Unit, UDUS and signed by the University Admission Officer, Shehu Abubakar and obtained by Campus Reporter’s correspondent through the University’s social media handle. According to the notice, the concerned candidates are encouraged to report to the Office of the University Admission Unit.
The statement read, as follows: ‘This is to inform candidates who were admitted during the 2019/2020 academic session/inter-Faculty transfer, but were unable to collect letters of confirmation of admission and register due to the COVID-19) lockdown, that the University Management had directed them to defer their admissions to next academic session (2020/2021).’
‘The affected candidates are hereby advised to visit the University admissions office with their relevant documents of admission evidence to defer their admissions to the next academic session coming up in September 2021. The University regrets any inconveniences to the affected candidates,’ the statement said.
