This was made known on Saturday evening in a memorandum of understanding signed by the labour leaders and the delegates of the state government in Osogbo, the state capital.
The MoU set modalities for meeting the demands of the workers. But some categories of retirees would still not get their full pensions monthly.
“The state government has further approved henceforth 100 per cent payment of monthly pensions for retirees earning N30 , 000 and below while other retirees not in the said category shall however be paid 75 per cent of their monthly pensions,” read the MoU.
It continued: “The state government shall effect the payment of full salary for the month of December , 2017 for its entire workforce and pensioners which is made possible as a result of the Paris Club refund received by the government .
“Modalities for subsequent payment of salaries and pensions between January 2018 and second quarter of the year will be addressed by the standing committee on appropriation
on payment of salaries and critical expenses of government .
For the labour, the MoU was signed by Tunde Adekomi and Bayo Adejumo, who are Chairman of National Labour Congress in Osun and the chairman of Joint Negotiating Council, respectively
On the other side, the Commissioner for Finance, Bola Oyebamiji; the Head of service, Festus Oyebade; and the Chief of Staff to the Governor , Gboyega Oyetola signed on behalf of the government.
This development is expected to affect academic staff of the state-owned tertiary institutions who joined the Industrial action against the half salary on Thursday.
