Olajumoke Oyeyemi Emerges First Female OAU NUASA President


History was made in the Department of Management and Accounting, Faculty of Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University on Friday 10th of September, 2021, as Olajumoke Wuraola Oyeyemi, a penultimate student of the department was elected as the president of the Nigerian Universities Accounting Student Association (NUASA), Obafemi Awolowo University Chapter, Ile-Ife. The first female student to be elected into the position. 

The election, which was conducted through electronic voting, took place at the Faculty of Administration’s basement. Internet and computer facilities were provided at the venue of the vote, where only financial members of the associations were eligible to vote.

Oyeyemi Olajumoke Wuraola polled 302 votes to defeat her two opponents, Atanda Victor Olamide and Oluwamuyiwa Oluwagbeye, who polled and 222 and 41 votes, respectively.

The post of Vice President was won by Agbebi Mary who polled 290 votes to defeat her opponent Yusuf Fatimah, who polled 275 votes. 

Another keenly contested position was the post of the General Secretary. The post was won by Oladepo Victor who polled 249 to defeat Giwa Olamide who polled 199 votes and Oyerinde David Obayemi who polled 117 votes.

Mofepofoluwa Alabi won the post of Financial Secretary after polling 393 votes to defeat Olusanya Nurudeen Adedeji who polled 165 votes. Lawal Michael Oluwatomisin won the post of Public Relations Officer unopposed after polling 540 votes.

Ogunranti Emmanuel Adefarati polled 349 votes to win the post of Treasurer while his opponent, John Aleh, had 196 votes. The position of the Librarian was won by Bifakale Oluwaseun after polling 267 votes to defeat Adepoju John Adesina and Abe Hepzibah who polled 175 and 102 votes, respectively.

The post of the Director of Socials was won by Godsline Chinda who polled 398 votes to defeat Oyedele Paul who polled 163 votes. Saheed Damilola won the post of Director of Sports after polling 286 votes to defeat Oyekunle Oyedeji who polled 257 votes.

Liasu Niniola Aminat polled 430 votes to win the position of Assistant General Secretary defeating Oshomoji Oludotun Isaiah and Oladoja Fatimoh Opeyemi who polled 104 and 29 votes, respectively.
