The University of Uyo Alumni Association elected and inaugurated its new Executive Committee on Friday the 17th January, at the University of Uyo Main Campus, Uyo.
A member of the House of Representatives and former Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke emerged as President of the Alumni Association.
Also elected into the Executive Committee are Dr Godwin Akpan -Deputy National President, Dr Jude Iwok -Vice President (East), Olawale Maku -Vice President (West) and Dr Essien Akpanuko -General Secretary.
The new Executive Committee also includes Mfon Essien -Assistant Secretary, Barr. Ini Ememobong -Public Relations Officer, Samuel Effiong -Treasurer, Ekong Eshiet – \Internal Auditor and Uduak Akai -Director of Organisation.
In his maiden speech, the new President, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke thanked the alumni for their support and called for a united front and support from every member, stating that the new executive committee will exemplify inclusion, development and expansion in the quest to reposition the alumni association.
The new executive committee will steer the affairs of the Alumni Association for the next four years.
