UNIBEN Announces Resumption Dates For 2020/2021 Academic Session

On Monday the 2nd of August, 2021, the University of Benin announced resumption dates for the 2020/2021 Academic Session.

In the update signed by the school’s Public Relations Officer, Benedicta Ehanire, fresh students are expected to resume to the Halls of Residence on Sunday the 8th of August 2021, while their online clearance and registration continue on Monday the 9th of August, 2021.

You will recall that the university completed its academic activities for the delayed 2019/2020  academic session on the 9th of July 2021, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic which downed tools globally for the larger part of 2020.

Old students are expected to arrive on campus on Sunday the 15th of August 2021, to commence registration of courses on Monday the 16th of August after the payment of school charges.

According to the update, registration for all students closes on Friday the 3rd of September 2021, after which students will no longer have access to the University portal.

Just as the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lilian Salami, on behalf of Management, looks forward to welcoming students back on campus for the 2020/2021 academic session, it is pertinent for students to be mindful that they will neither be allowed into the Halls of Residence nor registered for courses without payment of school charges.

Virtual orientation for fresh students which commences on the 2nd of August will last until the 4th of August, with a virtual matriculation exercise for the same set of students on the 6th of August, 2021. The academic session will last for nine months from the 2nd of August  2021 to the 25th of April 2022.
