President Buhari Appoints UDUS Alumnus As NECO Registrar

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed an alumnus and one-time lecturer of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, as Registrar of the National Examinations Council (NECO) for the country.

 

Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi replaces Professor Godswill Okeke Obioma who died on the 1st of June this year, spending less than one year in office.

 

In a letter dated 16th of July 2021 with reference No: FME/PSE/NECO/1078/C.1/36 and signed by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, it was announced that the appointment (which runs for an initial tenure of five years) took effect on the 12th of July, 2021.

 

Professor Wushishi was born on the 5th of April 1965 and he hails from the Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State, Nigeria. He obtained his B.Ed, M.Ed and PhD in Education Chemistry at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

 

He is currently a professor at the Department of Science Education, (Chemistry) the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna).

 

Professor Ibrahim Dantani was a lecturer in the Faculty of Education, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto before he transferred his service to the Federal University of Technology, Minna.

 

Also, he was the Head of Department, Science Education, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.

 

Additionally, he was a Postgraduate Coordinator, Department of Science Education, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Sub-Dean School of Science and Science Education, FUT, Minna; Head of Department, Department of Science Education, FUT Minna.

 

Professor Wushishi is married and blessed with children.
