NANS/JCC Ekiti Axis Commends Management effort, encourages Others

The National Association of Nigeria Students, Ekiti chapter has commended the efforts of the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, over its provision of palliative materials to students who are still in the school during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Comrade Raji Sobur Kewulere, the Vice Chairman of the union made this known in a press statement released on the 21st of April, 2020.

According to him, the union is delighted and appreciative of the step taken by the management in order to cater to the affairs of its students.

“The Apex body of Nigeria students in Ekiti state found it so delightful and appreciative to the management of Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti that deemed it fit to contribute to easing the plight students would be going through in this hard time and unusual moment by donating palliative materials (food items) to students that are still within the environment of the institution, we must say kudos to the management for being passionate and feel concerned about the welfare of our members.”

As a stakeholder in the state on students matter, he said it is of great importance to applaud the management for the love shown to the students during this pandemic season.

“We feel that it is necessary that we commend the giant stride of FPA students’ stakeholders and contributions of the management in this critical period that we have found ourselves as people today.”

That “despite the fact that the government has not done enough in providing palliative for students that form the larger percentage of the most vulnerable in this period, the management took it upon herself to do that which we deeply appreciate as an association”.

However, he used this medium to call on the state government and other organizations, both public and private, to also help in providing palliatives to the less privileged in the society.

“We, however, call on the state government, other tertiary Institutions, philanthropists, private personnel to also contribute their own quota to the students’ community in this unusual period of COVID-19.”

“We pray may the Lord heal our land and we shall be free from this pandemic soonest,” he concluded.
